NASA Space Identify Art Challenge!

Do you love making fine art and using your imagination? So practise we! Every NASA mission starts with a artistic idea about how to explore something in a new fashion.


The art challenge:

In this new activity, we'd like to challenge young explorers to think about and depict a space-related situation each month. And after the calendar month is over, nosotros'll select a few imaginative drawings to be featured on the NASA Space Place website!

So, get set to exercise that creative encephalon of yours! Hither's what yous'll demand:

  • Paper
  • Art supplies (pencils, markers, crayons, paints – whatever you like to use)
  • A grownup helper with a camera or scanner and admission to email

April's Infinite Identify art challenge prompt:

Do you know which planet NASA has studied the most? Here's a hint: Information technology's the only planet we know of where we can alive. That's right, it's our domicile planet: Earth!

Apr is Earth month, and Apr 22 is Earth Day! NASA has been using satellites to study Globe from above for more than than 50 years. In that fourth dimension, scientists have observed many changes on our planet. Lookout the video beneath to meet some examples of these changes over time.

Submit your drawings between 4/6/22 and 4/30/22. Selected art submissions will appear on the website during the showtime calendar week of May!


How to submit your art:

One time you lot've gotten your ideas on the page, have a grownup take a photo or browse of the cartoon and email the post-obit to NASAKidsArt@jpl.nasa.gov:

  • Picture of drawing
  • First name of artist
  • Age of artist
  • Completed release grade (download here)*

* Authority AND RELEASE FOR PHOTOS, Sound AND/OR VIDEO RECORDINGS OF, AND/OR ARTWORK FROM A MINOR Kid

I hereby grant to the California Plant of Engineering (Establish) and its Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) the right to make, use, create derivative works and/or brandish:

  1. photos, video and/or audio tape recordings of, my Child and/or
  2. artwork (in any media, including drawings, photos, music and video creations) created by my Kid and submitted to JPL and/or

in any manner or form, and for whatsoever lawful purpose at any time. I likewise grant the Establish to use my Child's name associated with such photos, recordings of my Kid or with his/her artwork. I sympathize that my Child may be photographed and/or video or sound taped verbatim and that the Constitute may allow persons external to the Institute to view the pictures or recordings in role or in their entirety. I also understand that any artwork submitted by my Kid to the Establish for the Project may exist edited, reproduced or displayed publicly at the Found's discretion. I am fully aware and agree that such utilize of my Child's image or artwork and proper name may include posting on publicly bachelor internet sites, including JPL sites and other publicly viewable social media sites. I waive whatever right that I may have to review or approve of any finished products, or the uses to which such products may exist practical. I release and belch the Establish, its employees, sponsors, and subcontractors from whatever liability to me past virtue of any representation that may occur in the creation, editing or apply of said photos and/or video or sound tape recordings or the editing or use of my Child's artwork.
